• Junior Elizabeth Oczypok and sophomore Andrew Savinov both named 2009 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship winners for their exceptional independent research in the natural sciences.

• Bachelor of Philosophy student, Katherine MacCord , named one of only 37 students nationwide to receive a 2009 Gates Cambridge Scholarship.

• Three Honors College students win 2009 Humanity in Action Fellowships.

• Timothy Adamo, Chancellor's Scholar, awarded a University Clarendon Fund Award and The Dervorguilla Scholarship to study for a PhD at the University of Oxford.

• Honors College senior, Natalia Arutynow, receives 2009 National Security Education Program David L. Boren Scholarship for International Study to study in Republic of Georgia.

• Eleanor Ott named 2008 Harry S. Truman Scholarship winner for her superior academic and leadership abilities.

• Todd Moyle and Charles Sleasman II awarded 2008 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships for exceptional independent research.

• Daniel Armanios is among 32 U.S. students to be named a 2007 Rhodes Scholar, the second in a row from the University of Pittsburgh.

• Honors student Anna Quider wins the 2007 Marshall Scholarship.
