 Admissions & Financial Aid

Students interested in enrolling in a study abroad program should contact the University's Study Abroad Office directly for detailed information about options available to University of Pittsburgh students.

Students participating in the University recognized and sponsored Study Abroad program can request that their Cost of Attendance for the Study Abroad term be reviewed. Should those educational expenses exceed those incurred in a typical on campus term, a student's Demonstrated Financial Need may increase. An increase in this Cost of Attendance will not increase the student's eligibility for grants, scholarships or other campus-based funds. It may, however, enable the student to borrow additional funds through the Stafford Student Loan fund, the Parent PLUS Loan program or other alternative loan sources.

In order for these expenses to be reviewed, please complete the Cost of Attendance Increase for Study Abroad form and return it with the appropriate documentation to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.

Students who first enroll beginning in September 2008 or later and who are recipients of University sponsored tuition or tuition, room and board scholarships will have their scholarship adjusted. The tuition scholarship amount will be: for Pennsylvania residents, an amount equivalent to the undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences, Pittsburgh campus tuition charge; for non-Pennsylvania residents, an amount 50% greater than that charged to Pennsylvania residents, adjusted annually.
